I played on the Manatee Pirates with John when we were a good ball team. He was an exceptional player but, more importantly, he was a great person. I will always remember that sly little grin that he had. Even though I was in my early 60's and not able to keep up with the "youngsters" like John, he always had words of encouragement for me. He was a man's man. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
